In this home, circulation is used to define, separate, and enhance programmed spaces: an extended ramp represents entry by reaching out into the community, while the porch, as a central element, strengthens the idea of home as a destination. The porch continues through the house creating a breezeway that separates private from public. This breezeway proceeds through the bedroom wing, allowing ventilation and sunlight to penetrate the spaces from both sides. By utilizing structures and materials intended for agricultural purposes, the design seeks to minimize material and labor costs in keeping with a core goal of Habitat for Humanity.
