This “green” home was designed to incorporate a number of sustainable design features including solar photovoltaic panels, solar hot water and geo-thermal radiant in-floor heating. Central to our design philosophy, these green features were integrated into the architecture through a south facing gable spine which also incorporates automated clerestory windows to naturally ventilate the high volumes of the home. We feel strongly that “green” features can be beautiful, and need not appear as an after-thought. The design also includes textures and forms which allude to its rural mountain setting, but through non-traditional variations in color, detailing, and massing, the home has an undeniably contemporary feel.
